MICROBE-LIFT® Improves Anaerobic Digester Efficiency in Columbia

Empresas Publicas in Columbia applied MICROBE-LIFT® technology to two 7,900 m³ anaerobic digesters to reduce odors and improve volatile suspended solids (VSS) reduction.
The initial dosing and weekly maintenance program increased VSS reduction from 30% to 37% within six weeks, enhancing digester performance and allowing the facility to handle existing loads without costly expansion. The program also significantly reduced odors in and around the plant, demonstrating MICROBE-LIFT®’s effectiveness in improving digester efficiency and operational sustainability.


MICROBE-LIFT® Boosts Anaerobic Digester Efficiency in Busan

The City of Busan’s anaerobic digesters were operating at only 70% of design efficiency based on volatile suspended solids (VSS) reduction. Ecological Laboratories implemented a bioaugmentation program using MICROBE-LIFT®/IND, initially in pilot reactors and later full-scale.
Within 90 days, VSS reduction increased to 130% of design efficiency, effectively reducing sludge production by 20% and allowing the digesters to handle increased loads. Continued use of MICROBE-LIFT®/IND maintained these performance gains, while a temporary switch to an alternative product caused efficiency to revert to 70%, confirming the effectiveness of the MICROBE-LIFT® solution.
MICROBE‑LIFT® Enhances COD Removal and Biogas Production

This project aims to improve COD removal and biogas generation in the factory’s wastewater treatment system, which processes 1,700 m³/day of cassava effluent. High COD levels and low biogas output indicated insufficient microbial activity in Biogas Tanks 1 and 2.
Preparatory steps, including rainwater removal, cover repairs, and effluent recirculation, were performed before introducing Microbe-Lift® microorganisms. The treatment is expected to enhance COD degradation, increase biogas production, and improve overall operational efficiency.


MICROBE‑LIFT® Optimizes Biogas Production at Cebu Piggery Farm

This project focuses on enhancing biogas production at a 43-hectare piggery farm in Cebu with a 9,600 m³ anaerobic lagoon and 2,200 sows. The farm faced low methane production, insufficient to run both generators, due to poor digestion, thick sludge buildup, and high hydrogen sulfide (H2S) levels.
Microbe-Lift® IND and SA were applied to accelerate organic waste degradation, increase methane output by 20–50%, reduce sludge by up to 80%, and lower H2S levels through sulfur-oxidizing bacteria. This improved system supports renewable energy generation and reduces maintenance costs.
