MICROBE-LIFT® composting

Microbe-Lift® Accelerates Avian Carcass Decomposition in Korea

Location: Kumsan-gun, Chungnam, Korea

Project Type: Poultry Carcass Treatment

Year: 2015–2016

A study was conducted on the decomposition of 12 poultry carcasses using Microbe-Lift bacteria S&C/Boost in 300-liter containers from April 2015 to February 2016. Environmental factors such as ambient temperature, water content, and tank depth affected the decomposition speed, as did carcass floating, which limited contact with microbes.

Results showed that carcasses reached a pumpable breakdown level in 6.6 months and complete liquefaction by 9.9 months. This anaerobic microbial treatment system, developed with support from the Korean government, offers an economical and safe method to rapidly disintegrate carcasses, eliminate infectious diseases, and convert remains into agricultural liquid fertilizer, even for carcasses that had remained undecomposed for over five years.

MICROBE-LIFT® Accelerates Plant Litter Breakdown at Banana Plantation

Location: Banana Plantation, Guatemala
Project Type: Agricultural Waste Management

At a Guatemalan banana plantation, plant litter such as leaves and stalks naturally decomposes to return nutrients to the soil, but the process is slow. MICROBE-LIFT® was applied via the central irrigation system to accelerate decomposition, improving nutrient availability for new crops without costly mechanical processing. The trial demonstrated faster breakdown of litter, enhancing soil fertility and supporting more efficient crop growth.

MICROBE-LIFT® Accelerates Sugar Cane Waste Composting and Improves Fertilizer Quality

Location: Magdalena Sugar Plantation, Guatemala

Project Type: Agricultural Composting

At Magdalena Sugar Plantation, 900 m³ of cane waste (“cachaza”) is produced daily. Using MICROBE-LIFT® microorganisms, composting of cachaza was accelerated, reducing labor, tractor wear, and diesel use. Faster composting also minimized odor and flies. Residual microbes in the compost enhanced fertilizer quality, demonstrating benefits for crop growth and yield. The trial successfully improved operational efficiency and the value of the resulting fertilizer.

MICROBE-LIFT® Accelerates Plant Litter Breakdown at Banana Plantation

Location: Poultry Farm, Central America

Project Type: Manure Composting / Waste Management

A poultry farm in Central America faced slow manure composting and strong odors from deep waste piles accumulated over 12–16 months. MICROBE-LIFT® was applied directly to the manure, boosting microbial activity and thermophilic decomposition. Composting time was reduced by up to 50%, odors shifted from foul to earthy, and the resulting stabilized compost became a valuable fertilizer, turning a waste problem into a productive resource.
