MICROBE-LIFT® Ecosystem Restoration

National Seminar on Biological Application of Malaysian Rivers

Location: Penang, Malaysia

Project Type: Ecosystem Restoration

Technical paper by Magna Vappro (M) Sdn Bhd in collaboration with Oakwell Engineering Limited showcasing the use of MICROBE-LIFT® technology for bioremediation of polluted rivers, lagoons, and lakes. The project highlights in-situ biological treatment using bioaugmentation and biostimulation to accelerate organic waste degradation, restore nutrient cycling, and improve water quality while minimizing capital costs.

Engineering Research of the Microbial Revitalization of Xiba River with Microbe-Lift® Technology

Location: Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China

Project Type: Ecosystem Restoration

Year: 2004–2005

Conducted by Kunming University of Science & Technology in collaboration with Oakwell Engineering, this study applied MICROBE-LIFT® technology to remediate the Xiba River, a tributary of the heavily polluted Dianchi Lake.

The project focused on treating agricultural runoff and domestic sewage, restoring water quality, and demonstrating effective open-water bioremediation in a challenging river environment.

MICROBE-LIFT® Improves Shoal Lake Lagoon Performance

Location: Shoal Lake, Manitoba, Canada

Project Type: Wastewater Lagoon Optimization

Year: 2012

Shoal Lake’s three-cell aerated lagoon system experienced reduced treatment efficiency due to long-term sludge accumulation and slowed biological activity during winter months. In 2012, the municipality implemented MICROBE-LIFT® to accelerate spring biological recovery, improve effluent quality, and control odors. The program successfully reduced BOD, COD, and nitrate levels, enhanced sludge degradation, minimized odors, and ensured consistent compliance with discharge requirements—extending lagoon capacity while delivering measurable operational cost savings.
